Attractions/Things to do and see while you're in town -otherwise known as the 'Quilpie Challenge'
- Drink at least one glass of Artesian Bore Water. It won't hurt you!
- Pull up a stump, pour a cuppa and join us around the campfire at Channel Country Caravan Park and take in some poetry performed by our local Bush Poet - John “The Ferret” MORAN ! (Please contact us for dates and times). To see a photo of John and his wife click

- Eat a famous Quilpie pie from the Quilpie Offshears Bakery.
- Try Bronc's Breakfast Bangers.
- Go to (and if its warm) swim across Lake Houdraman.
- Climb Baldy Top just before sundown and check out the brilliant sunset.
- Visit the Old Exchange Gallery and see the South West best art works and opal display.
- Pop into the Quilpie Information and Visitor's Centre and have a chat to one of the helpful staff who work there. There might also be an exhibit showing.
- Take a 'Skinny Dingo' Mail Run Tour or why not "Do Birdsville the Easy Way'!
- If you're staying with us at the Channel Country Caravan Park you can fossick here in the park. It's a great place to learn more about boulder opal.
- Undertake a self drive expedition to 'Deuces Wild' opal lease, just 70kms north west of Quilpie. Only $13.00 per person!
- Try your luck catching yellowbelly from the banks of the Bulloo.
- Have a drink at the Imperial Hotel/Motel and the Quilpie Club. They do great meals too!
- Browse through the beautiful crafts at the Quilpie Craft store.
- Have a game of golf on the best sand greens in the South West!
- Visit the Catholic Church and check out the stunning opal altar, font and lecturn.
- Try your luck at finding opal in the fossicking area outside town.
- Catch yabbies on a string at the 'Seco'.
- Go for a swim in our local pool - admission is free! (Sept - April)
