Quilpie is located 980 kms west of Brisbane and 208 kms west of Charleville.

If you are travelling from Brisbane the journey will take you about eleven hours. The roads are all sealed and in excellent condition. If you are travelling from the west, south or north the best thing to do is check out the most recent map you can get your hands on as more of these roads are being sealed all the time. Quilpie itself is situated one kilometre west of the Bulloo River. The population is about 650 and although small, Quilpie is a very well serviced town. From Quilpie you can continue further west to Birdsville, south to Thargomindah, Eulo or Yowah or you can head north to Longreach via Windorah. The possiblilities are endless!
